Cruzan®
Estate Diamond Rum
Cruzan Rum originated on the island of St.
Croix in 1760 on the Estate Diamond Plantation. The rums produced
there quickly became highly sought after exports. The ruins of the
original plantation serve as the site for the present day Cruzan
Distillery and CRUZAN
ESTATE DIAMOND RUM remains one of
the most successful brands of Caribbean rum in the world.
For those looking for a savory añejo
with an amazingly low price
tag, this rum is just the ticket. Cruzan Estate Diamond is a blend
of triple-distilled rums aged in charred American oak barrels for
5 to 10 years. The blend is then lightly filtered through activated
charcoal to remove impurities and particulates.
Cruzan Estate Diamond Rum has a medium-weight
body and an alluring bouquet that fills a glass with the toasty
aromas of vanilla, chocolate and spice. The rum enters the mouth
without a trace of heat and then bathes the palate with the delectable
flavors of coffee, caramel and vanilla. The finish is dry and warming.
The Cruzan range also includes ESTATE
LIGHT, which is a blend of triple-distilled
rums aged in oak bourbon barrels for a minimum of 2 years. It is
then filtered through charcoal to remove the color it obtained
during aging. Cruzan Estate Dark Rum is essentially the same, but
the
color is left intact.
