Christian
Brothers® Brandy
CHRISTIAN BROTHERS BRANDY
is one of the oldest and
best-selling American spirits. In 1882, the religious order of the
Christian Brothers began distilling brandy from California grapes.
Their commitment was and remains to create singularly light, flavorful
brandies using locally grown grape varietals.
The Christian Brothers winery and adjacent
distillery is a huge, state of the art complex located in the fertile
San Joaquin Valley in California. Despite the innovations the Christian
Brothers have built into their facility, little has changed in their
artisan approach to making brandy.
The Christian Brothers selected the Thompson
Seedless grape as the principal variety, because they possess the
sought after qualities of high acidity, balanced flavor and low
alcohol output. They distill their brandies in huge, copper alembic
stills, as well as extremely efficient patent stills. Prior to blending,
the brandies are aged in American white oak bourbon barrels a minimum
of 4 to 6 years.
The enormously popular Christian Brothers
Brandy has a tempting, fruity bouquet and a soft, supple texture.
The full body is imbued with layers of well-balanced fruit flavors.
Its finish is warm and lingering.
Superb also is the CHRISTIAN
BROTHERS XO RARE RESERVE, a 6
year old blend containing a high percentage of pot-distilled brandies.
