Absolut® Vodka
Lars Olsen Smith was a giant in the Swedish vodka industry, who by the 1870s controlled the majority of the country’s spirits production. Armed with a state of the art facility equipped with a revolutionary new column still, Smith began bottling a vodka of unprecedented purity in 1879. Appropriately labeled Absolut Renat Brannvin (absolutely pure vodka), it is this spirit that inspired the creation of ABSOLUT VODKA.

The world-renowned brand is distilled in Ahus, a picturesque town on
the southern coast of Sweden, by the state-consortium V. & S. Vin and Spirits Company. Absolut Vodka is made entirely from a mash of
locally grown wheat and purified well water. It is quadruple-distilled in
a six-column, continuous still and emerges at extremely high proof.
The vodka is not subjected to filtration before being reduced with
water to 80 proof.

Introduced in the United States in 1979, Absolut is now the best-selling imported vodka in this country. It has pristine clarity and a lightweight body with the lush texture of velvet. The vodka has a subtle bouquet of citrus, pine and clover, and a clean, marvelously neutral palate. The finish is crisp and refreshing.
